We are proud and excited to announce that "Back to His Girl" written by Monica Driscoll, aka Monica da Silva, has been licensed for the movie "Lady Bird”.
“Lady Bird” is a 2017, American coming-of-age comedy-drama film, written and directed by Greta Gerwig, in her solo directorial debut. Set in Sacramento, California, between the fall of 2002 and the summer of 2003, it is a coming-of-age story of a high school senior, and her strained relationship with her mother.
“Back to His Girl” is featured in the scene where Lady Bird is trying on prom dresses in the thrift store. If you listen carefully, you’ll hear Monica’s track weaving in and out behind the dialogue.
We were surprised to see our neighborhood coffeehouse in South Pasadena, Kaldi Coffee & Tea, used as a shooting location. We thought that was a real coincidence, since we moved to that neighborhood from all the way across the country, and could have moved anywhere in Los Angeles. It was meant to be, we think.
Chosen by the National Board of Review, the American Film Institute, and Time magazine as one of the top 10 films of the year, “Lady Bird” received four nominations at the 75th Golden Globe Awards: Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Actress – Musical or Comedy for Saoirse Ronan, Best Supporting Actress for Laurie Metcalf and Best Screenplay. The film won two awards—Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy) and Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy, for Saoirse Ronan.
"Back to His Girl" has also been featured in the Canadian drama series "Heartland".
